London – love from first sight

It was time for our spring tradition.  We had to took the hard decision choosing between London and Rome. Daniel wanted to visit Rome, but (as I told you before) I’m not really into Italy, so ‘we’ have decided to see London first 🙂 London is the most astonishing city I have ever been in. Big, fat and fabulous, spectacular mix between old English traditions and new culture and modern vibes. It was love from first sight – the architecture, the castles, bridges, gardens… and nice English weather of course. We have spent almost a week there, feeling and living in that mesmerizing place and atmosphere, and it only took us 5 minutes to decide that this is THE place. Our place abroad. We took 2 hours flight to Luton early in the morning and landed in rainy England just in time to find out that everything they told us about the spring mornings there is true. Yep, it was cold. It was windy and it was foggy. And wet. Like really, really wet. And grey. Like really, really grey. No matter that, we reached London by bus with the agency and had half-day tour through the city. Let me tell you something for London  – half-day tour is not enough. Life-time tour won’t be enough. We were absolutely sure that we’re going to see each of the emblematic spots by ourselves separately later, but it was useful for us to use the bus tour to get acquainted with the city, the transport, the nearby shops, Read More

Blueberry oatmeal muffins

Those muffins are specially made for those Sunday afternoons when you want something nice, sweet and healthy 🙂 As all the rest, this recipe is really simple and the whole cooking time prior baking takes no more than 10 minutes. Have in mind that you need ~30 minutes in addition before baking while oat should soak the ingredients and should rest. Speaking of ingredients, here are them: half tea cup einkorn flour (~120-130 grams) – 3 to 4 BGN for 300-500 grams package half tea cup of fine oat flakes (~120-130 grams) – 2 to 3 BGN for a kilo package 1 egg – 2 to 4 BGN for 6 to 12 eggs pack yogurt (~250-300 grams) – up to 2 BGN for 400 grams box baking soda (a tea spoon) – up to 1 BGN for a package (~20 tea spoons spoons) olive oil (2 tablespoons) – 15 to 20 BGN per kilo half tea cup or 2/3 of tea cup (depends on your taste) natural brown sugar – up to 5 BGN per half-kilo package vanilla pod – up to 10 pieces for 1 BGN What to do? Put the yogurt together with the baking soda in a bowl. Add the egg and the olive oil. Mix with the sugar and vanilla to a nice texture. Paris, je t’aime

I’m pretty sure that Paris is like the center of Europe and every year millions and millions of tourists are visiting that spectacular place. It’s lovely there, even though I’m not in love in France. It is absolutely outstanding to be there and to feel Paris. It was one of the loveliest places I have ever been to and it was really impressing. Firstly, we took a short 2 hours flight to Charles de Gaulle and then it took us 2 hours more to reach our hotel right next to MusĂ©e GrĂ©vi just a couple of meters from Boulevard Montmartre and Grands Boulevards metro station. We were using tour agency again, as we weren’t sure if we’re going to make it not speaking French. The hotel itself was poor as expected – like every average hotel in Paris ours was having small rooms, even smaller bathrooms, and not-really interesting breakfasts. By the way – in case you want to spend hundreds of euros for a hotel – Paris is offering you the opportunity to book enormously expensive hotel with average services every day 🙂 And if this is not enough for you, you most probably will have to pay for thin walls, noisy streets, no elevators… but in the end you’re ok with that, and basically you’re ok with everything, because oh, yeah – you are in Paris! The rest of the first day in Paris we spent walking in the neighborhood reaching Jardin des Tuileries and MusĂ©e du Louvre from the one side and Place de la Concorde to the other. It Read More

Ciao, Venice

Italy is great, and I’m not even close to being in love in Italy or Italian traditions, history, countryside or architecture. Ok, maybe I’m fascinated over their architecture but I’m not deeply impressed by everything 🙂 However, Italy is really lovely, warm and incredible place to visit (and maybe live). There are so many things to see, so many places to visit, so many emotions to feel and enjoy… and so many tasty food to eat! For me, as pasta lover, Italy is the place to be! My first journey to Italy was back in 2012, when we landed in Milan in our way to Nice. Unfortunately we didn’t spend more than 3 hours there – just crossed the city from the airport to Milano Centrale where we took the train to France. I got back there in 2013 with Daniel on our first trip abroad. Oh, God, I would love to go back and kill him there – I would save myself 4 years of nerves 🙂 But let’s get back to our trip. We traveled by bus with a tour agency for almost 18 hours. It was really long and uncomfortable. It took us ages to reach there –  we started our journey in the late afternoon (around 6 PM in Sofia) and we arrived in Venice late morning (11 AM or something like this in Venice) on the next day. Oh, man, I hate buses! Endless 18 hours plus couple of breaks in the middle of nowhere. However, after a quick shower, we went to Read More

Travelling for dummies

Since I was a small kid, I’ve been dreaming to travel. Of course, I was sure that when I grow up I would be able to visit every single place on Earth I could think of. As an adult, I already know that traveling is not really easy and not so cheap as expected. It could be cheap, yes, but it won’t be fancy. And if you don’t know me yet – I’m a fancy person 🙂 Also, there are a lot of places that I would love to go right away, but it’s not safe there (there are wars, medical risks from diseases, no fresh and clean water, no roads…). I know that when you really want something – you go for it, but… I can’t imagine going somewhere where there are no bathrooms, or nice and tidy hotels, or hospitals nearby. Maybe I got too old before I even am young and free? However, years ago I made myself a promise – I will visit at least one new place every year. I will try to visit even two, but let’s say that one would be enough for the start. Here, in this category, I will write about my trips around Europe (so far) – I hope that soon I will be able to write about my trips around the world, but as of today I can tell you my stories for this continent only. Some of the places I have visited were great, really spectacular and I felt awesome (like London, Amsterdam or Read More
